Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This policy lists every cookie, browser-storage item and third-party request the Privacy Just website uses, why, and for how long. Under Art. 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), storing or reading information on your device requires your consent unless it is strictly necessary to provide the service you have explicitly requested. General information, not legal advice.
Who is responsible

Summary
Privacy Just currently uses no analytics cookies, no advertising or marketing cookies, no tracking pixels and no fingerprinting. Typefaces are served from our own site, so no font request goes to a third party. Everything below is either strictly necessary or a functional preference you set yourself; the only third-party script is the Paddle checkout, loaded when you choose to buy a plan. The banner offers analytics and marketing categories so that consent can be recorded before any such tool is ever introduced; at present nothing is loaded when you enable them.
pj.cookie-consent.v1 — strictly necessary, first party (localStorage)
Stores your cookie choice, the time you made it, the policy version and an expiry date, so the banner does not reappear on every page. Your choice is kept for 6 months; after that, or when this policy changes materially, the banner asks you again. You can change it at any time.
pj.anon — strictly necessary, first party (localStorage)
A random identifier generated when you make a cookie choice, so the consent record held on our server can be linked to your choice and evidence it (Art. 7(1) GDPR). It contains no name or contact details. Kept until you clear your browser storage.
Sign-in session (sb-…-auth-token) — strictly necessary, first party (localStorage)
Set only when you sign in. Holds your session token so you stay signed in. Removed when you sign out; the access token expires after about one hour and is refreshed while you remain signed in.
pj:checkoutIntent — strictly necessary, first party (sessionStorage)
Set only if you start checkout before signing in, so the plan you chose is resumed after sign-in. Deleted on completion or when the tab is closed.
pj_onboarding_redirected — strictly necessary, first party (sessionStorage)
Set when signed in, to avoid sending you to onboarding more than once per visit. Deleted when the tab is closed.
pj.theme.v1 and pj.locale — functional, first party (localStorage)
Remember the display theme and interface language you selected. Kept until you clear your browser storage. Set only when you choose a theme or language, or to remember the language detected from your browser.
Tool and reminder preferences — functional, first party (localStorage)
When you use the free tools or dismiss reminders, your working data and choices are kept in your own browser so they survive a reload: privacy-just.* keys (e.g. privacy-just.breaches, privacy-just.dpia.list, privacy-just.cookie-scan, privacy-just.ropa.controller, privacy-just:templates:custom), privacy-just.migrated.v1/v2, vendors.citationContextChars, pj-profile-banner-dismissed and pj_profile_reminder_snooze. They never leave your device unless you save them to your account. Kept until you delete them or clear your browser storage.
sidebar_state — functional, first party (cookie)
Remembers whether a collapsible side panel is open, where one is shown. Expires after 7 days.
Paddle checkout — third party (Paddle)
The Paddle payment script (cdn.paddle.com) loads only when you click to buy a plan. Paddle may then set its own cookies needed to complete the payment you requested; see Paddle's own cookie and privacy notices.
Changing or withdrawing consent
Use "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to reopen the banner with your current choice pre-filled; "Reject non-essential" is one click, as easy as accepting (Art. 7(3) GDPR). You can also delete all items above via your browser's site-data settings, or reset the banner from Account settings. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
